About Gemma

Gemma Gallagher is an award-winning artist from Belfast, Ireland. Celebrated as ‘Artist of the Year’ by The Independent Newspaper, UK, Gallagher has exhibited and sold her work internationally through galleries in London, Dubai, Dublin, and New York.

Gallagher’s art is held in private and public collections globally, including the Open University, BBC and Etihad Airways Art Collections.

Gallagher’s work is both introspective and outward-looking, drawing from her experiences growing up amidst political conflict in Belfast. Her earlier work explored themes such as the romanticism of war, before transitioning to concepts such as escapism, heritage and identity, based on her personal experiences navigating a complex modern world.

Gallagher was recently selected for the Etihad Airways 20th Year Art Collection, featuring 20 leading artists based in the UAE, and has partnered with global brands such as Nike, Givenchy and Bloomberg.
