Echoes Through Time

This work gathers many voices of wisdom from across continents and centuries, each returning to the same truth of our shared human existence.

The Sufi mystic Ibn ʿArabī writes, “I am you and you are me, and in this we meet in one heart.” Irish proverbs remind us that strength and survival come through our unity.
From Native American traditions, the Lakota phrase Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ and the Ojibwe Gakina awiiya both affirm, on earth we all are related. Cicero and Seneca echo that all things are connected and that among humans we must cultivate humanity.

Sant Ravidas, the Indian poet-saint, declares that in one heart resides all, while Rumi writes that love is the bridge between you and everything. A Chinese proverb declares all people within the four seas as brothers.

Painted in deep layers of blue and green, the work evokes the strata of ocean and earth, where fragments of text lie embedded like currents or sediments of time. When the viewer lingers in stillness, these voices begin to surface like wisdom rising from distant lands and different eras, carrying forward the enduring message of unity.
