Into Paradise is a pivotal piece in this collection, and marks a distinct departure from Gallagher’s previous works, where wild animals have served as visual metaphors for escapism and the allure of the exotic. Traditionally depicted in positions of power and calm, Gallagher’s tigers and leopards have embodied strength and serenity.

This more recent piece was born from a moment of raw intuition, with the tiger emerging in a more introspective style. The surreal, psychedelic landscape surrounding the tiger evokes a sense of dislocation, inviting the viewer to question whether the animal is immersed in discovery within this dreamlike world or embarking on a new journey toward a better existence.
