Some of the most profound things we experience in life are invisible. An encounter can awaken something within us. A conversation can change the direction of our life. A moment of tenderness can remain with us forever.

Resonance explores our extraordinary capacity to stir something in one another, often without ever knowing the depth of our impact.

In his Enneads, the ancient philosopher Plotinus contemplated a shared consciousness extending through all existence. Rabindranath Tagore wrote of the same stream of life moving through our veins and the world, “dancing in rhythmic measures.” The Persian mystic Hatef Esfahani offered an exquisite image of the infinite possibilities concealed within the smallest things: “Split the heart of any atom and you will find a sun within it.”

Their words emerge and disappear across two canvases, beneath layers of gesture, texture and glimmers of gold, suggesting the invisible energy that passes between us, leaving impressions far beyond what we can perceive.

Consider the people whose lives have touched yours so deeply that something of them will always remain. Somewhere in the world, you are that person in someone else’s story. Something of your existence has become part of who they are, and will continue to touch the lives of everyone they encounter.

And therein lies the extraordinary beauty of our existence: that we can never fully know how far its resonance will reach.
