This painting is guided by a line from the Karaniya Metta Sutta, in which the Buddha speaks of holding “a boundless heart for the entire world, above, below, and all around.” The words are inscribed faintly across the surface, almost dissolving into the deep blue field, requiring attentiveness from the viewer to reveal the message.

Through the centre runs a textured white divide marked by a fine seam of 24k gold leaf, evoking the fractures and fault lines of the earth. Rather than a rupture, the golden thread becomes a binding force – a living pulse that carries compassion across all directions. The work reflects the aliveness of the world itself, holding together sky and ground, light and dark, self and other in an embrace that encircles humanity as one.
