Omnia Inter Se Conexa Sunt (Cartographies of Connection)

Oil Texture Medium and Gold Leaf on Canvas
40 x 50cm
This series of four small canvases takes the form of patterns that echo the outlines of the earth’s land and stone. Across their surfaces, Latin fragments from Roman philosophy are inscribed so faintly in grey that they almost disappear into the ground.
Seneca reminds us that “Nature made us kin.” Cicero affirms that “all things are interconnected” and that life is “not for ourselves alone.” Virgil’s words endure across centuries: “Love conquers all.” These voices surface like hidden cartographies, suggesting that beneath the layers of the earth lie the same insights the philosophers named long ago – humanity is bound by connection and love.
